Welcome to Trio Cafe & Wine Bar
Our story starts in 2013, when Fabio and Sabri decided to join their kids living in Australia. They left Italy following one of their biggest dream: opening their own family restaurant. Even though they did not speak much of the language and they never really worked in the industry, they knew that food is a family passion and the kids grew up with that passion up until it became their career when they moved out of Italy. And this passion has since been driving the family through this big adventure. In 2014, the Trequattrini family opened Threecoins Italian Trattoria (just 30 seconds walking distance from Trio). They did not know many people in Perth at the time, but soon they felt at home finding themselves immersed in a wonderful community that showed them love and support. Three years later, knowing that local people were appreciating their style of hospitality, they decided to offer something more to the local community: Trio was born with the idea of bringing a small piece of Italian lifestyle in the Mount Lawley community, by being a casual everyday meeting point for the locals and for the every one else. Just like every small cafe/bar in Italy, we want our customers to feel at home: we love when they come in and meet their neighbour, when they call us by name and when they ask about the kids. Little by little we want Trio to increase its hospitality and cultural offer for the community: from Italian Aperitivo to live music, from $3 coffee to wine classes, from gin tastings to jazz nights.
During the day Annalisa makes the best coffee in the area, and Luca dishes out some delicious breakfast with an Italian spin as well as his famous carbonara for lunch. After a long morning with the grandkids, Nonna Sabri takes over the kitchen and together with Frank prepares the best Aperitivo in Perth and also some great dinner dishes (like her famous meatballs) to pair with the interesting and delicious wines that Antonio has carefully selected for Trio.
We do breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and dinner and a few events in between. For our food we use a mix of local producer and the best of the imported Italian goods available in Perth. In terms of wine, we present a wine list made nearly exclusively of Italian varieties and Italian wines. Our coffee is from Toro Black, a local coffee roaster that makes a unique blend just for Trio.
